It’s not a band name, it’s really happening to cisco 2501 router that have been used to bridge the connection of our network to the internet.
In the last 3 days in sequence, 3 IP in our network is attacked by some DDOS flood on dns service. which force our ISP to erase the 3 attacked IP from the registry.
The weird part is, the cisco is heavily down as I could not make remote connection at all to the system… even by simple telnet-ing the box or making the connection direct in to the console port… at all!
Like said… I call the ISP support assistant and request them to make the preliminary actions on their side and told that the whole services is badly unusable by the attack…
By the time I post on my blog… I still doing the analysis, investigate and coordinating with the ISP technical support…
The question that arise in my head right now is… could such network attack by flooding, crippled the whole system resource of any cisco or just the 2501 series that we use?
